CHOOSING PHOTOGRAPH FOR THE PORTRAIT All my portraits are painted from photographs. If you are thinking of having a portrait done why not to email me your favorite images. I will be happy to have a look at them for you and will get back to you with detailed feedback. There are couple important things to look out for while choosing the right photo. Here are some tips that will help you select some good photographs: * good lighting and contrast. *outdoor photographs generally work the best due to their hi-contrast and sharp focus but shouldn't be taken in a direct light. Direct light creates very strong light/shadow line which may not look very well on the portrait. *soft shadow is good as it is the shadow and light that gives the painting its dimension. *I cannot work from tiny images or photographs that are blurry, with no shadow, no detail, no "studio portraits". Please, avoid images taken with a mobile phone. * high resolution images are preferred as I can depict from them more and paint your portrait in more detail. * in some cases it is still possible to use low resolution photos but I would need to see it first to be able to decide. * don't worry about the background or what else in the shot, I am able to remove it and paint with plain background * the best images are when the child is in a most natural pose, with light or no smile. * more than one photograph of the subject is perfect, as I can then get an over all image.................... PAYMENT: Once we agree on size, price and photo I will ask you to pay 50% of the orders value. I will create reserved listing which will cover 50% of the total value. Remaining amount and shipping charges will need to be paid once the portrait is completed and approved by you.................................................................................. QUALITY AND SATISFACTION GUARANTEE I guarantee an exact likeness of the subject and that your painting will be completed in a style consistent with my portfolio/website. Costumer satisfaction is most important to me. During the process I will email you with at least two images of work in progress, each taken at different stage. Once you receive them you are welcome to comment and request adjustments. It is extremely important to me to know you are happy with the progress and the outcome that is why I always take into account your feedback. Once the portrait is completed you will receive another image. This is also the time when you can ask for any further adjustments. I will keep working on the portrait until you are really happy with it. If for some reason we can not get it right for you than this is the time to ask for refund. Once the portrait is shipped I can not longer accept any returns. So please make your decision carefully. I've been painting portraits for over 20 years and I've never had a request for refund so please do not worry. I am sure we can make it work. It just means so much to me to have customers who are genuinely 'in love' with their painting that I won't stop until you have the portrait you dreamed about.
